If I take the diet pill Hoodia, will I gain weight after I quit using it?
Answer:
When you stop taking Hoodia it will stop suppressing your appetite, therefore you will be more hungry. But if it helps you reduce your portion size at meal time that could create a habit over time. There is a chance that if you are in the habit of eating smaller portions it will continue once you stop taking Hoodia. The question is how long will it take to form that habit for you.If you diecide on Hoodia I’ve written some good articles on it that will answer many important questions, just Yahoo or Google my name “Andrew Aitaken” to find them.Remember, you should always consult your physician before taking any diet pill or weight loss supplement.
sure
hoodia just low your food craving

Probably, but its not a problem with the pill, its a problem with your eating habits. If people exercise, and CHANGE the way and what they eat they won't have to worry about diet plans and pills failing. The pills and plans don't fail it is the person's inabililty to change their lifestyle. So yes if you take Hoodia, then quit using it and continue with your same eating and exercising habits you will gain the weight back.
Please rethink buying that false crap of a pill. It doesn't work, it screws up your system, and most of all, you will definitely gain the weight back! Look at the book, "The 3 Hour Diet" and then you will start losing weight the healthy way. Good luck.
If I take a general vitamin supplement, do I need extra doses of individual vitamins?
Under what conditions would someone need extra vitamins that are not in a general supplement. Wouldn't it be a waste or worse, not healthy.
Answer:
a waste, unless you are actually lacking in something, i would just stick with the general one..
A doctor might recommend an iron supplement on top of your daily vitamin if you were anemic (iron deficiency) or they might recommend more calcium if you have bone problems. It's best to visit with your doctor about this. If you have any deficiencies, they will instruct you what to do. Otherwise, just stick to your daily vitamin. Too much of certain vitamins can have negative effects. Best of luck!
f you're a stickler for nutrition, you may already be doing a pretty good job of getting what you need, but there are two crucial nutrients that most pregnant women don't get enough of from food alone:Folic acid
Taking a supplement is the only way to make sure you're getting the amount of folic acid you need each day. All medical authorities recommend a daily dose of 400 micrograms (mcg) starting at least a month before you begin trying to get pregnant and at least 600 mcg a day once you know you're pregnant. (And that's in addition to the folic acid you get from food, which is actually not as easy for your body to absorb as the synthetic kind in a supplement.) Research has shown that doing this can reduce the risk of neural tube defects in your baby by up to 70 percent. Most prenatal vitamins contain between 600 and 1,000 mcg of folic acid. If you don't take one, make sure you still take a separate folic acid supplement. If you've previously had a baby with a neural tube defect, you'll need to take 4,000 mcg, or 4 milligrams, of this vitamin every day, starting at least a month before conception. See your practitioner about getting a prescription for pills that provide this larger dose.Iron
A prenatal supplement can also help you get enough iron. Most women don't get enough of this mineral in their diet to meet their body's increased needs during pregnancy. That's because your body makes a lot more blood when you're pregnant to support your growing baby, and as a result, the iron stores in your blood can get spread pretty thin. To avoid developing iron-deficiency anemia during pregnancy, most women need to take a supplement. The amount recommended when you're pregnant is 27 milligrams (mg) of iron per day, 50 percent more than you need when you're not pregnant. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that all pregnant women start taking a low-dose iron supplement of 30 mg at the first prenatal visit, either as an individual supplement or in a prenatal vitamin. Most prenatal vitamins contain between 27 and 60 mg of iron. (Be sure to keep your pills out of reach of children; supplemental iron can be fatal to them.)Some women need to take even more during pregnancy. After reviewing your prenatal blood work, your caregiver will let you know if you need to boost your iron intake. Women with iron-deficiency anemia are usually advised to take between 60 and 120 mg of iron each day in addition to a prenatal vitamin that contains iron. If you're not yet pregnant but already know you're anemic, your caregiver may suggest that you start taking an iron supplement now.http://health-products.5gbfree.com...
It will depend on what your individual deficiencies, excesses and "blockages" (anti-nutrients)are....and yes, if you take too much of something that you dont need, you can cause problems for yourself. But, if you know what you vitamin and mineral levels are (you can have a hair analysis and blood tests done) then an experienced doctor, who really knows about nutrition(practises natural medicine) will be able to prescribe the correct amounts for you...(this will not be your average family doctor- who is only taught how to treat symptoms- with pharmaceuticals). This may be a very worthwhile exercise...as all disease has its origin in the biochemistry of our cells..only after the biochemistry goes wrong (by there being too much or too little of a specific mineral or vitamin/nutrient) do symptoms of disease become apparent.A hair analysis can pick up which toxic elements you have in your system (Arsenic,Cadmium,Lead and Mercury,Aluminium,Antimony) - these toxic elements will prevent certain vital nutrients from being absorbed (even though you may be getting enough of them in your diet). For example, someone who has an excess of copper in their system, may end up being depressed, and have trouble sleeping - because copper blocks the absorption of zinc, and zinc is vital for the formation of stomach acid, which in turn is vital in the formation of 5-htp which is the precursor to Serotonin (our "happy chemical") in the brain...Phew!.Remember, for all of us, it's not healthy for us not to be getting the right minerals and vitamins, in the correct amounts.

If i stopped taking my daily multivitamin would i lose weight?
just wondering.btw i take centrum
Answer:
Centrum vitamins have less than a calorie apiece so I don't see why cutting them out would help, and if you are dieting or exercising, which I would think you would be if you are trying to lose weight, I think vitamins are a good idea, so I think I would look elsewhere to drop calories, things like high sugar or high fat. And I agree with the other poster that said not too get too obsessive and cut your calories too low, because sometimes then your metabolism will shut down and it's even harder to lose weight anyway (in addition to being unhealthy of course)!
No probably not.
No, but he fact that you even asked this question show that you might be obssessed with loosing weight... I hope you are not starving yourself?!
you will not lose wight even if you stopped taking multivitamins.

If I starve myself and loose my period, then it's good!?
what's wrong with that?? i would actually love to loose my period!
Answer:
uhm its stupid. your body will get really screwed up. you wont have enough iron in your body so when you DO get your period it will hurt like a bit ch. plus. youll get anorexia. my friend is anorexic. and trust me. this is a really stupid choice and youll most definetly regret it.
my friends at cross roads with tubes hanging out all over her because she tried this. please dont. your beautiful the way you are. besides. guys like girls with curves, not girls with no body fat. no body fat= no boobs or butt.
guys DO NOT like that. if you dont wnat to get your period as much. go on the pill. you only get it four times a year, and you get to choose when. its a healthy way of avioding it. please listen to me. dont try this.
Your gonna screw yourself up bad if thats how you are going to loose weight .
I'm probably the wrong person to ask. Cuz I think what you're saying makes sense.
well..if u loose your period you loose the ability to have children and much more..dont do it
Being unhealthy isn't something to strive for.
If you stop menstruating from starvation you are also going to be leeching off of your bones and that is never good. If you want your period to stop go to the ob/gyn and see about getting birth control pills that you skip the 7 day period pills and that will stop the bleeding. You can not function at your best by starving. I wish you the best. ~J
What's wrong with that is that it can mess up your body chemistry quite severely. First of all, starvation weakens your immune system and all of your organs. Secondly, if you ever decide you want a child, you could have a very difficult time conceiving. There are some types of birth control pills that you take and have a period only four times a year. Why not talk to your doctor about a less extreme solution than starving yourself? Good luck.
Are you kidding? Seriously - starving yourself causes so many other problems - - - possible eating disorders, loss of muscle tone, headaches, loss of energy, depression, the list goes on. If you really want to cut down the length of your period or possibly lose it completely, you need to talk to your doctor about birth control pills. There are many choices out there, and, depending on your body, they may make you stop flowing. Please consult your doctor. Blessings.
The body will start to break down and you will get sick. Very sick.
Instead, eat according to a doctor's plan, study nutrition and love yourself enough to stay well while eating sensibly.
A person who loses their period in the manner you're considering is endangering their lives. This is not a good idea.
Having a menstrual cycle is a healthy part of being a woman.
yeah would you like to gain the fact that you will never be able to carry a child normally or even at all by starving yourself? You will be doing your self more harm than good for many years to come starving yourself!
No It Is NOT Good! Yes a period is inconvenient. But to purposely loose it by starvation is so very unhealthy. Starvation can Kill You !
Unfortunately starving yourself to a point where you lose your period means that you are putting too much stress on your body and it is not working properly and healthily. There are many consequences that you will notice as a result. For one, your immune system will weaken to a point where you will be susceptible to illness and probably get sick often. Secondly, starving yourself can cause tremendous psychological trauma due to lack of nutrition.
If you are intent on having periods less frequently, there are birth control pills that limit your period to 3-6 times a year instead of 12-13. The periods also last less time and are overall more comfortable. There are risks taking this pill. I would recommend seeing a doctor and discussing what methods including the pill you can use to reduce period frequency and duration.
losing your period is a sign of starvation, your body is shutting down any processes that it can no longer afford to lose energy from. This is a seriously bad thing. Not a wise choice by any means! go eat, please
Hey girl, every young woman would love to not deal with tampons, maxi pads and that god awful smell, but do not starve yourself please it's not healthy, who are you trying to prove. If you starve yourself you are risking death or perhaps a heart attack. Get real sister and don't joke yourself, plus do not have your doctor talk you into using anything to stop your period. Having a period is natural that is what your mother and god blessed you with. Peace brownies

If i run everyday, will i lose weight?
i only have time to do a powerwalk and a little running, about thirty minutes each day... when will i notice results and when will i lose these ten pounds?
Answer:
Keep at it and you will lose that weight! I am doing the very same thing. I walk every day for 30 minutes. Out of those 30 minutes I try to jog for at least 5 minutes. One minute at a time throughout the 30 minutes. I am trying to lose 12 pounds. Good luck, and remember just keep it up. You won't see results overnight, but you will get there!
At first I started out just walking about 30 minutes a day. I didn't weigh myself because I didn't want to be disappointed. I didn't notice anything until my aunt told me I was losing weight. I weighed myself later that day and I had lost 18 lbs. I didn't even notice it. I still don't feel thinner.
weight loss is all about the math. If you burn more calories then you take in you will lose weight. A moderate diet and a moderate exercise schedule should be fine to maintain a good weight.
You have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound. An average body needs about 2200-2500 cal. a day just to do average daily things...SO...if you limit your daily calories to 1200-1500, you will burn a pound or two every week. How many calories you burn during exercise depends on the amount of exertion, and the length of time you're exercising for. If you want to burn weight faster, you'll need to exercise more. It's not recommended you go below the 1200 required calories a day. And, Yes, I edited this comment today...after I shut down the computer and went over my answer a little, I thought to myself, the average requirement to MAINTAIN your weight is 2500 calories, so I realized I'd made a mistake, for anyone who noticed!!

If I run every day from now until July, how much weight will I lose?
I've just started running for an hour every single day. I eat pretty healthy and not that much, but until now I haven't really done any exercise, save for gym in school. I weigh about 125 llbs and am 5'7, so how much will I lose? My goal is to be 110 by the start of the summer,so I'm hoping somewhere around there.
Answer:
That's really hard to say just by reading that summary here. But I can tell you that when eating healthy make sure to eat 5-6 small meals a day to keep your blood sugar stable. Get your recommended servings of fruits and veggies, and set realistic goals for yourself. A realistic weight loss is around 3-5 lbs a week, anything more is just water weight that will gain back. Also don't forget to give your body time to warm up by stretching before you run, and after to prevent any muscle sprain or strains. Make sure to also have a day off in the week to give your muscles time to relax and adjust to running. Stay hydrated, and get your 8 hours of sleep. If you do all those things, then your weight loss journey can be a successful one! Good luck!!
15 pounds in a few months is possible. Stick with whatever diet your doing. Dont cheat except maybe one cheat meal a week. Id' recommend doing low carb.
whoa-why do you want to be so skinny? i'm 5'8 and last year i weighed 118-i looked sickly (from what people told me). not all guys like stick thin girls. i wish i was at 125 now but if you run every day i think you will lose probably 10+ pounds.
Depends on how much you are eating. Too little and your body will fight to keep the weight on, too much and you will not loose any weight either. How long have you been running for? It will be a little bit trial and error. You could find that if running is new to you in the first few weeks you may loose a bit but as your body adjusts to the exercise you will have to step it up a notch to keep the weight loss happening

If i run about 2 miles in 20 mins how many cals will this burn?
Answer:
no more than 200 calories depending on your body weight and BMR. If you're looking to burn calories increase the distance. If its cardio fitness you're after pick up the pace. To lose weight at least 30 mins at 75% max heart rate ca. 130
a lot
on average 100 cals per mile if you run it in 10 - 11 mins I think, thants what i got told and was working to.
it all depends upon the effort put in
Around 250 cal's but remember to stay hydrated as this could affect your workout
around 200-250 calories i think, no wonder ur name is zzzzz u must be tired
Hi,I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.getin2it.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!
i work that out`to be`-45`calories`which makes`it exactly`the same No of points uv lost this Week`-45.how on earth did u get to Level 2 at that RATE`
Whether you walk or run, you'll burn around 100 calories a mile. It doesn't really matter how long it takes you to cover the two miles. However, this is an average as the heavier you are, the more calories you'll burn, the lighter you are the fewer you'll burn. Perhaps what's more important if weight loss is your goal, is the proportion of those calories that come from burning body fat.Running at a lower speed is less intensive and enables your body to utilise more oxygen, which is necessary to metabolise fat. Therefore, running at a speed that keeps your heart rate at around 60-70% of your max heart rate (220 minus your age) will burn proportionately more fat than running at say 80-90% of your max heart rate. If you run more quickly for 20 minutes you'll cover more miles and burn more calories, but will burn proportionately less fat per mile than running more slowly.Obviously, the fitter you get the better your body gets at utilising oxygen during a cardio workout and the harder you can train whilst keeping your heart rate in the optimum fat-burning zone, eg 60-70%.If you'd like more info on running and weight loss you may find the link below helpful.
If you take into consideration that a human walks at 4mph on average taking twenty minutes to run two miles will not burn many calories,You must be a slow runner.
On the treadmill it takes me 22 minutes to run 2 miles on the flat, and that works out at about 300 calories. Ouside I suspect it would be a little more effort and so I would add a few on.
